Tsunami

Merry Christmas, and, by the way, we are in Nha Trang, Vietnam... not Thailand.

Check out this photo again. This was the night that we decided to extend our Southeast Asia portion of the trip, thereby not flying to Australia on January 1st and thereby not spending Christmas on the Thai beaches, which was the original plan.

Holy Moly. Jen awoke to a dream of a Japanese lady telling her how to write down the name of a missing friend in Japanese.

Fate's destination, nice photo.

Glad you're ok.

The dream also involved a huge Tsunami, rumbling, and she survived inside a house, ultimately with a mudslide that rolled the house, and mud up to the windows.

She had the dream before we heard of the event.

Hey, guys. Thank god. The first thing we did when we heard the news was to sign on and hope you had posted. We are happy someone was watching out for you and keeping you away from trouble. Love, Nicci & Phil

So glad to hear you are safe! I hope this doesn't take too much wind out of your sails. If you are still going to Cambodia, make sure you don't miss the Citadel of Women - it is the only one of the Wats carved out of pink limestone [much harder] and the bas relief is in much better shape than any of the others. I can get you the name of my guide, his email and rec's on where to stay if you do go to Siem Riep. Happy, Merry, Chok-dee - Karen

Merry Christmas from Montana. We heard the news of the Tsunami here and I went on M&A's site to get your link again. Wow, I was totally relieved as well to learn that you guys are safe and well. Stay that way and continue to have a blast... Now I want to hear from P&J, but I think that they were in the mid/north of India...best, Dan Wray.

Thanks so much for letting us know you're ok! We were very worried, and are happy to breathe a sigh of relief as far as you're both concerned! We miss you back home, and hope your adventures continue as safely as possible...looking forward to catching up when you get back!!!

Jim/Dara: Terrible event. Glad you two are ok. I see you have a lot of close friends who care about you. I guess the phrase "don't make waves" takes on a sobering new meaning. Keep in touch so we know where you are. Many of the Irish side of the family have been calling to make sure the two of you are ok. Don't go near the site for curiosity's sake; they expect immense health issues. Christmas wasn't quite the same without you two but your brothers and I drank your portion of the beer.
Love Dad

Hey, Dara and Jim! I'm soooooo glad you are OK!!! As soon as I heard, I thought of you and was worried that you might be in that area. I e-mailed Jeff and Jen, who set me straight. Phew! Relief! I'm glad you are doing well, and are having fun and lots of adventure. Enjoy! It was, LIKE, minus 50 degrees here (it certainly felt like it) last week. It's warming up, now, just in time for New Year's. We all miss you and cannot wait to see you back, in person, over drinks, and hear more stories. Be safe, and have a Happy New Year, full of health, love and happiness! :) Tina
